Magnetic Filter

Time:2026-01-08 Views:0

A magnetic filter is a specialized filtration device that removes ferromagnetic impurities from liquids or gases using magnetic force. It is an essential equipment in industries such as petroleum, chemical, food processing, and water treatment, as ferromagnetic impurities can cause wear and tear on equipment, block pipelines, and affect product quality.

The main structure of a magnetic filter includes a filter housing, magnetic cores (permanent magnets or electromagnets), and a filter screen (optional). When the fluid containing ferromagnetic impurities passes through the filter, the magnetic cores generate a strong magnetic field that adsorbs the ferromagnetic particles (such as iron filings, rust, and magnetic oxides) in the fluid onto the surface of the magnetic cores. The filtered fluid then flows out through the outlet, while the impurities remain trapped by the magnetic force.

Magnetic filters can be divided into permanent magnetic filters and electromagnetic filters according to the type of magnetic source. Permanent magnetic filters have a simple structure, low energy consumption, and are suitable for general filtration scenarios; electromagnetic filters can adjust the magnetic field strength by changing the current, making them suitable for high-precision filtration and scenarios where impurities need to be automatically cleaned. In addition, many magnetic filters are designed with detachable magnetic cores, which facilitate the cleaning and maintenance of adsorbed impurities.

In the food processing industry, magnetic filters are used to remove ferromagnetic impurities from edible oils, beverages, and grain products to ensure food safety; in the hydraulic system of industrial equipment, they filter ferromagnetic impurities in hydraulic oil to protect hydraulic pumps, valves, and other precision components. The advantages of high filtration efficiency, low pressure loss, and no secondary pollution make magnetic filters an important part of the purification system in various industries.
