High Temperature Resistant Samarium Cobalt Magnet

Time:2026-09-01 Views:0

High temperature resistant samarium cobalt magnet is a rare earth permanent magnet material composed of samarium, cobalt and other metal elements, which is divided into SmCo5 and Sm2Co17 two series according to the component ratio. As a high-end special permanent magnet, it is famous for its excellent high temperature resistance, ultra-stable magnetic performance and strong anti-demagnetization ability, and is the preferred magnetic material for high-temperature, high-precision and harsh environment working scenarios. Different from NdFeB magnets which are easy to demagnetize at high temperature and ferrite magnets with low magnetic energy product, samarium cobalt magnets can maintain stable magnetic performance in ultra-high temperature environment, and have extremely low temperature coefficient of magnetic performance, which solves the problem of magnetic attenuation of ordinary magnets in extreme temperature environments. The product is manufactured by vacuum smelting, powder metallurgy, orientation pressing and high-temperature sintering process, with dense internal structure, uniform grain distribution and excellent overall performance consistency.

The core advantage of high temperature resistant samarium cobalt magnets is their outstanding high temperature resistance. The working temperature of SmCo5 series can reach up to 250°C, and the Sm2Co17 series can stably work at 350°C, which is far higher than the maximum working temperature of NdFeB magnets (180°C) and ferrite magnets (120°C). In the high-temperature working environment, the magnetic attenuation rate of samarium cobalt magnet is less than 1% per 100°C, and it can basically recover the original magnetic performance after returning to normal temperature, with no permanent demagnetization. In terms of magnetic performance, samarium cobalt magnets have high magnetic energy product (15–30 MGOe), strong magnetic field strength and concentrated magnetic flux, which can meet the high magnetic requirements of precision equipment in high-temperature environment. The product has excellent anti-demagnetization ability, strong resistance to external magnetic field interference, mechanical vibration and impact, and will not produce magnetic deviation and attenuation in complex electromagnetic environment and dynamic working condition.

In terms of physical and chemical properties, high temperature resistant samarium cobalt magnets have excellent stability and durability. The material has high hardness, good wear resistance and mechanical strength, not easy to deform and crack during high-temperature operation and high-speed movement. It has natural excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, no need for electroplating, coating and other surface protection treatment, and can stably resist high-temperature oxidation, humid corrosion and salt fog corrosion, adapting to harsh industrial environments such as aerospace, petroleum and chemical industry. The temperature stability of the product is extremely superior, the residual magnetic flux density temperature coefficient is only -0.03%/°C, which ensures that the magnetic output of the equipment is accurate and consistent in the temperature change process, and meets the high-precision operation requirements of precision instruments. In addition, samarium cobalt magnets have good low-temperature resistance, and can also maintain stable magnetic performance in -60°C ultra-low temperature environment, with wide temperature adaptation range.

High temperature resistant samarium cobalt magnets are mainly used in high-end manufacturing and extreme environment application fields that ordinary magnets cannot adapt to. In the aerospace field, they are core magnetic components of aviation precision instruments, aerospace navigation equipment, satellite control systems and aircraft engine accessories, providing stable magnetic field guarantee for high-altitude and high-temperature operation of aerospace equipment. In the petroleum and chemical industry, they are applied to downhole exploration equipment, high-temperature chemical detection instruments and corrosion-resistant magnetic transmission components, adapting to high-temperature and high-corrosion working conditions in oil fields and chemical plants. In the military industry field, they serve as magnetic components of weapon control systems, radar equipment and military precision instruments, with stable performance and strong anti-interference ability. In the industrial high-end equipment field, they are used for high-temperature motor magnetic parts, high-precision sensors, vacuum equipment components and automated high-temperature production equipment. In addition, they are also widely used in medical high-temperature sterilization equipment, nuclear industry auxiliary equipment and high-end scientific research experimental instruments. As a high-performance rare earth permanent magnet, samarium cobalt magnet is an indispensable key material in high-end precision manufacturing and extreme environment engineering, with high technical value and market scarcity.
